On market day at Lake Bunyonyi in southwest Uganda bags with charcoal are brought in by boat for trade. Also people from villages at the lake arrive in large groups, packed in small boats. They trade their goods and take the opportunity to grab a lift with a car to Kabale, the nearest town, as market day is the day with most cars going to the city and because public transport is non-existent. But also normal daily life goes on: early in the morning singing schoolkids arrive by boat for their lessons. We visited Lake Bunyoni on our overland trip from the Netherlands to South Africa.
