Namibia - Kaokoland 2016

Kaokoland 2016 is a video about our Family's Namibian Holiday with friends to go in search of the elusive Dessert Elephants with our route going via Epupa Falls, Van Zyl’s Pass, the Marienflus, Cunene River, Marble Camp, Puros, Sesfontein, Khowarib Schlucht, Etosha, Windhoek & Ai-Ais.
Timing - The trip was a total of 19 Days Start to finish with a first day of 17 hours from Cape Town to Windhoek!
Car - We traveled in our trusty “Cheetah Tuna” a Fortuner 3.0 D4D with OME suspension, additional 42 lt fuel tank (and two jerry cans), 60l water tank, and all the other usual tents, etc. We were blessed to not receive one flat type the entire trip and the BFG’s were really put through their paces.
Food - Super organisation had us sharing meal preparation and eating like kings every night.
Driving - The 4x4 off road driving was spectaula giving us 10 full days in either High or Low range.
Highlights – Epupa Falls, Van Zyl’s Pass, Marienflus, Dessert Elephant, 89km of low range driving in river beds in one day, Etosha’s Oliphants Camp and …… JOE’S BEER HOUSE in Windhoek.
This trip was in particularly a special time to reflect on the passing of Rob Hughes (2016.06.03) our Father, Dad & Grandfather. You would have loved this one Pops…
