29th March 2014 - The Xiamen GeZaiXi Opera Company 厦门歌仔戏 performing the usual set piece ceremonial opera on the first day of their opera season at the Koo Chai Ba City-God Temple 菜芭城隍庙, Singapore. This is a set piece comprising a series of ceremonial opera segments with auspicious theme; this one depicting the 8 Immortals, with GuanYin (Goddess of Mercy), and Fu Lu Shou (the Gods of Happiness, Wealth, Longevity, (福禄壽) visiting and celebrating the birthday of the Queen Mother of Heaven.
This auspicious opera is perform everyday at 3;30 pm and last for about 45 mins. Temple devotees love to watch this as there is a lot of good wishes bestowed on the audience at the end of this segment..
