Join us on a long haul flight from Doha (Hamad International Airport) to Singapore (Changi Airport) with Qatar Airways aboard their sleek Airbus A350-900! In this Trip Report, Maxi and Maro take you through our entire journey, from the transfer at Doha Airport to the arrival in Singapore. Our trip starts as we disembark from our previous Qatar Airways Dreamliner flight from Copenhagen. Once we’re at Hamad International Airport, we walk through the terminals, showing you what the transit experience looks like, including the distances between gates and tips on navigating Doha Airport efficiently.
When it’s time to board, you’ll get a quick peek at the Airbus A350 parked at the gate before we settle into our Economy Class seats. We take you on a tour of the Economy and Business Class cabins, showing the modern amenities and comfort features of this new aircraft. You’ll also see the Economy Class lavatories and galley, where the Qatar Airways cabin crew prepares the meals.
During the flight, we enjoy two inflights meals: a hot three-course lunch and an inflight snack box served before landing. The Oryx One In-Flight Entertainment System (a highlight of the A350) is also explored, with a vast selection of movies, TV shows, music, games, and more. We show you the onboard duty-free shopping magazine, the safety card, and the Oryx Entertainment magazine that passengers can browse.
As we approach Changi Airport, the video covers the landing, taxiing, and finally, our journey through the Baggage Claim area at Singapore’s world-renowned airport.
We were impressed with the comfortable seating, friendly service, and generous meal and drink offerings. The cabin felt clean, airy, and well-maintained. Legroom was suitable for Maxi (186 cm) but not particularly different from other airlines' economy cabins. We were especially happy to enjoy complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and we hope Qatar Airways continues offering this excellent service.
Verdict: Overall, this flight on the Airbus A350 was a great experience, and we'd definitely fly Qatar Airways again—though we’d prefer their A350 over the Dreamliner for long-haul routes due to the legroom issue. Highly recommend Qatar Airways Economy Class for your next international flight!
