Design.
The BMW iX is equipped with the finest optics in the history of BMW production vehicles. LED headlights and taillights come standard.
The latest generation BMW Laserlight headlights are available as an option, combining matrix technology with a laser module. The daytime running lights are located above the main unit and act as direction indicators.
For the first time in BMW history, an SAV-class vehicle is equipped with frameless doors that underline the sporty character of the BMW iX.
The integrated door handles feature contrasting colors and niche lighting.

Features of the interior.
The BMW iX is the first production vehicle from the BMW Group with a hexagonal steering wheel. The motorsport-inspired steering wheel gives the driver a better view of the dashboard. The spokes feature touch-sensitive controls, and an optional three-stage temperature control is available for heated steering wheel.
Recycled materials and natural raw materials are widely used in the interior of the BMW iX. These include recyclable plastics and aluminum, FSC-certified wood, and Econyl nylon flooring and mats from recycled fishing nets and plastics. The leather is treated with olive leaf extract instead of traditional tanning agents.
The electric BMW iX features a completely new interior architecture for BMW cars. The atmosphere of comfort is achieved thanks to the curved BMW Curved Display, new seats with integrated head restraints and panoramic glass roof, as well as a large interior volume in general. The absence of a central tunnel creates extra legroom and storage space.
The luxurious center console of the BMW iX is a work of art. It is complemented by a new gear selector and transparent iDrive controller with touch control and lighting.
The optional Clear & Bold package includes an open-pore wood trim for the center console and crystal-cut controls.
An important part of the BMW iX cockpit is the new generation Head-Up Display. The bezel-less design makes the display projector hidden from the driver's eyes. Key driving data are displayed on the windshield: vehicle speed, diagnostic messages, electronic assistant warnings, route instructions and multimedia content.
The driver visually perceives the prompts of the projection screen as if they were located three meters in front of the car, which allows reading information without straining his eyes.
The BMW iX is already equipped with automatic dual-zone climate control as standard. An optional four-zone climate system and efficient heating of the center console, glove compartment, door panels, armrest and steering wheel are available.
It is important to note that the materials used in the interior trim are tested in the BMW Group's laboratory. Potentially allergenic components such as nickel are not used in areas of potential contact.

The efficiency of the BMW eDrive electric propulsion system reaches 93%, which is significantly higher than that of vehicles with internal combustion engines (less than 40%).
The BMW iX xDrive40 and BMW iX xDrive50 are equipped with four-wheel drive and two electric motors - one electric motor for each axle.
At the start of production, two modifications of the newest crossover will be available - BMW iX xDrive40 and BMW iX xDrive50.
Power output of the BMW iX xDrive40 version is more than 300 hp. From 0 to 100 km / h, the crossover accelerates in approximately 6 seconds, and the range per charge exceeds 400 km (in accordance with the WLTP test standard).
The modification of the BMW iX xDrive50 is equipped with a power plant with a power of over 500 hp, providing excellent dynamic performance - less than 5 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h. The cruising range is over 600 km.
The component base of the fifth-generation BMW eDrive includes electric motors, transmissions, power electronics, high-speed charging technology and a high-voltage battery. The efficiency of the power plant is not only 30% higher than the efficiency of previous generations of electric motors but also exceeds the characteristics of competitors.
In the BMW iX xDrive40 modification, the battery capacity exceeds 70 kWh and the maximum charging power reaches 150 kW. The energy capacity of the BMW iX xDrive50 battery is over 100 kWh and the maximum charging power is 200 kW.
At DC fast-charging stations, the latest BMW iX can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% capacity in just 40 minutes. Charging for ten minutes using the speed terminal will increase the range of the BMW iX xDrive40 by 90 km and the BMW iX xDrive50 by 120 km.
The electric BMW iX combines the traditional sporty DNA of BMW cars with surprisingly low energy consumption in its segment. The projected consumption figures according to the WLTP test standard are less than 20 kWh / 100 km for the BMW iX xDrive40 and less than 21 kWh / 100 km for the BMW iX xDrive50.
