In 1969, the ARPANET - Packet switching network founded by ARPA. First four nodes introduced, including UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Stanford and U of Utah.

In 1974, the Publication of TCP designed in IEEE Transactions on Communications.

In 1981, a full specification of the TCP/IP protocol was created. CSNET also was created.

In 1982, first public WAN initiated in Europe.

In 1983, the Internet was fully operational with three original networks and all hosts running TCP/IP. Those three things were ARPANET, PRNET and SATNET.

In 1984, first implementations of DNS were created. The first email arrived in Germany.

In 1985, Symbolics.com, the world’s first domain is registered.

In 1986, Craig Partridge developed Modern Email Routing System.

In 1987, UNNET, one of the largest Internet service providers was founded.

In 1988, CERFnet, a network service provider began business.

In 1989, PSINet, the first commercial Internet service provider was founded. Tim Berners-Lee created the WWW and initiated HTTP development. Furthermore, Brewster Kahle invented the first Internet Publishing System – WAIS.

In 1990, the first Internet search engine, Archie was developed.

In 1991, www is available to the public. Gopher protocol was invented.

In 1994, An initial release of Netscape and Yahoo! Was created.

In 1995, Amazon.com, Craigslist and eBay go live. AltaVista, was established.

In 1998, the Google search engine officially launched for public use.

In 2000, the dot-com bubble bursts because of DDoS attack.

In 2003, the blog publishing platform WordPress is launched.

In 2004, the remarkable year for social media community with born of Facebook.

In 2005, YouTube.com and Reddit go online.

In 2006, a sweet bird started tweeting. Hello Twitter!

In 2014, Google and Browser community enforced for a safer Internet with HTTPS.

In 2016, Google Assistant greeted the world. Chatbots joined the Internet race.

In 2018, the year of the Chatbot!

In 2019, the 5G started to be commercial.

In 2020, because of the COVID-19, remote working become popular. Online Internet become more important than before.
