Bank of China Makes Landmark Move: $28M Digital Structured Notes Issued on Ethereum Blockchain

BOCI, the investment bank subsidiary of Bank of China, has become the first Chinese financial institution to issue tokenized securities on the Ethereum blockchain. They announced the issuance of $28 million worth of digital structured notes in Hong Kong. UBS collaborated with BOCI to originate the product for its Asia-Pacific client. UBS has been actively expanding tokenization across various financial products, including fixed income and repo financing.
