With COVID-19, better known as the Coronavirus, spreading across the world, we would like to review some steps you can take to maintain healthy employees, customers, and loved ones. We invite you to do your own research and learn more about the virus. The more you know, the better you can take preventive actions.

Understand, this can all feel a bit scary, but it’s something that we can manage as a community.

Here are some basic, yet effective steps you should take and promote in the workplace:

Hand-washing: Wash your hands regularly. Use hand sanitizer when possible.

Avoid touching your face: Your eyes, nose and mouth are all entry points for viruses and many other germs. Avoid touching your face as much as possible.

Fist bump or Japanese bow: Put the good, old-fashioned handshake on the shelf for awhile, and instead fist bump or bow.

Wipe down work areas daily: Evidence suggests the virus may stick around for a few hours on surfaces. Wipe down frequently touched surfaces in the workplace like cell phones laptops, or door handles.

Zero tolerance sick policy: Anyone who is sick, or starting to feel sick, should take a sick day or work from home. One day away from the office is better than putting your entire workforce at risk.

Eat well, rest well: Now is the time to be as healthy as possible. So, eat food that will boost your immune system. Try to sleep between 6-8 hours per day, consecutively if possible.

As operators, we can help our communities stay healthy. Assist your accounts by adding products to your vending machines, micro markets or coffee stations that will help customers support their immune system like healthy snacks, hand sanitizer, Vitamin C/D packets, phone wipes, fruit, and more!

The spread of the corona virus is something you and your business should take seriously. Educate your employees and your accounts and take precautions so your business and your accounts will stay as safe, happy, and healthy as possible.
