COVID Downturn, Pacers Withdrawn & 'Deutschland Takt' (Train News #20)

I discuss the continuing impact of COVID-19 on the rail network (including the replacement of franchising with concessionary measures for the forseeable future, the TfL bailout and disruption to Eurostar), the withdrawal of Pacer trains, the proposed deferral of HS2's Eastern Leg and Germany's 'Takt' masterplan, including a potential cross-city tunnel in Frankfurt and the expansion of its train fleets.

My thoughts are with those lost in the tragic derailment at Stonehaven on the 12th August 2020.
