Dr Colin Lawrence and Christian Hunt on Covid-19 Risk Assessments
Dr Lawrence is an expert in money and banking with particular focus on regulation & risk management, More recently Colin was Director of the Risk Specialists Supervisory Division at the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Bank of England. He was responsible for technical supervision of all banks and building societies in the UK spanning market risk, product control, credit risk, liquidity risk and stress testing from 2008-2012. He was instrumental in designing the stress testing for both liquidity and capital and played a significant role in bailing out banks during the financial crisis. He is a Senior Vice President of the consulting firm, Strategem partners, set up to provide solutions to UK and European financial Services firms as they grapple for adjusting to Coved19 and Brexit.
Dr Lawrence's 30 year career has spanned a variety of senior management global roles in consulting, banking, regulation and academia; He was Managing Director, Barclays Group where he focused on building a risk management group to oversee all risks. At UBS, he was Managing Director and Global head of Fixed Income derivatives and at EY, he was a Partner in charge of advising banks in Europe on Capital and Liquidity stress testing; At Republic National Bank he was a Executive Vice President appointed Treasurer of the Holding company. He holds a MA, PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago. Dr Lawrence is Professor Emeritus of Money and Banking at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University.

Christian Hunt is the founder of Human Risk Limited. He has over 23 years of experience in Financial Services, as a Practitioner, Regulator and Risk/Compliance Officer.
Most recently, Christian was Managing Director & Head of Behavioural Science (BeSci) at UBS; a role that was created specifically for him.
In his previous role as Global Head of Compliance & Operational Risk Control (C&ORC) for UBS Asset Management and UBS EMEA, Christian recognised the potential that BeSci offered in the fields of Risk & Compliance.
He is now deploying his extensive in-house experience of “Bringing Behavioural Science to Risk & Compliance” to a wider external audience. He is a regular speaker and blogger on Human Risk related topics and produces a fortnightly newsletter.
Christian is a former Chief Operating Officer of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), a subsidiary of the Bank of England which for financial regulation. Prior to assuming that role, Christian was Head of Department within Supervision at the PRA and its predecessor the FSA, responsible for the supervision of a number of systemically important international banks. His regulatory experience also includes a two-year secondment as a case officer at the UK Takeover Panel and regulatory consulting to the UK Office of Gas Supply.
Christian began his career as a Strategic and Economic Consultant, before moving into Corporate Finance at Deutsche Bank. He also spent three years as Principal in a Family Office.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and holds an MA from the University of Oxford.
