A pure, singing voice with few overtones, the high end is clear and crisp. As she sweetly sings on top, her bottom belts forth with bold power and surprising projection. Nicely resonant throughout the range. A beautiful instrument for professionals looking for a bold cello. Very weighted sound, with a lot of room to grow.

Notes from Dimbath:
Each instrument is completely handmade and is based on the patterns of old masters. They are not copies as every Dimbath cello has its own character, personality and style. No two instruments are completely alike so each is a work of art.

All of the tonewood is from European sources and is naturally aged for at least 10 years and is selected from their own stock. Wood selection is assisted by using high-end scientific measurements and the highly trained, expert eye of Bernd to ensure the wood has the most favorable inherent acoustical properties which is a critical factor in making world-class modern instruments. Bernd Dimbath works closely with two Dutch scientists combining 300 years of violin making tradition with 21st century acoustical research.

Bernd explains, "they analyze every little detail and balance every part under these highly developed and controlled acoustical aspects. The results have been amazingly successful"

Bernd is a 5th generation master instrument maker. He is a Graduate of Handwerkshammer, Berlin 1987. Attended Mitterwald Violin Making School 1983-1987.
