Celebrating IWD 2021 with “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.”

Today to celebrate the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) and UNDP Electoral Project have produced a communication video to commemorate the International Women’s Day (IWD) 2021. The success of stemming the tide of the COVID-19 pandemic and responding to its health and broader socio-economic impacts, women leaders and women’s organisation have demonstrated their skills, knowledge and networks to effectively lead in response and recovery efforts. Therefore, it is more relevant to uphold the rights and fully leverage the potential of women’s leadership through engagement and integration in political and electoral processes as displayed by several Heads of Government Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, New Zealand and Slovakia setting examples for developing countries to make irreplaceable contributions to decisions, policies and laws.

The video was produced with the support from governments and the people of Finland and Norway.
