Due to closed borders, travel warnings, curfews and restrictions on movement, it is quite difficult to gain experience and direct insight into the situation in other countries.

Exchanging experiences, methods and strategies as well as learning from each other is of particular interest, especially in the field of youth work which is based on direct working relationships. Many organisations keep close contact with their international partners in the form of digital exchange. However, these important experiences remain among the participants and are hardly disseminated.

In this context, IJAB, the international youth service of the Federal Republic of Germany, intends to fill this gap by introducing people and their experiences from other countries, and invite them to talk and engage in
direct dialogue with the aid of their new Livestream format via Facebook and YouTube.

In their fifth Livestream interview on 7 July 2020, IJAB invited Eva de Luis from Eurodesk UK, and Sarah Young from Momentum World. They discussed the current situation in the UK and the impact of COVID-19 in their daily work. Eva and Sarah also gave an insight into how their organisations continue to support young people despite the current challenges on international mobility opportunities.
