Plastic gears offer the engineer more freedom to influence the tooth form, since they are usually manufactured using injection molding instead of hobbing processes. In this web demo, we will show you the options in KISSsoft for designing plastic gears and cover the following aspects:

- Rough and fine sizing of plastic gears
- Design of deep tooth from
- Optimization of root strength
- Design of tooth thickness allowances for optimal operating backlash
- Aspects of tooth form for mold making, wire erosion etc.
