How much range do EVs really have? What happens when an EV dies? What's the best electric car?

We perform a true and total range test of the Tesla Model 3 Long Range, the Hyundai Kona Electric Elite, the Nissan Leaf, the MG ZS EV and the Audi e-tron 55 Sportback to see how far they go – and how close these electric cars get to their WLTP range claims.

Join Tom Baker and the five Chasing Cars presenters as they embark on a classic Australian road trip with a twist – this time, we’re driving five EVs till total exhaustion! Rather than making guesses about range, we set out with two friendly two truck drivers to drive the Model 3, Kona, ZS, Leaf and e-tron until their batteries were completely dead and the cars could no longer move.

Why? Because in any country, but especially on the Australian continent, range claims matter! We want to show exactly how far these EVs will go. Which is the best electric car from a range and consumption perspective? Let’s find out!
