At least three were arrested during a demonstration of over 1000 protesters, who marched on Tuesday night against the planned eviction of 'Meuterei' (literally Mutiny in German) pub.

The police were seen pushing some protesters before they made the arrest.

Members of various leftist groups first gathered outside the Kreuzberg bar, whose lease had expired, and marched towards the occupied housing projects at Rigaer Strasse in Friedrichshain district, escorted by numerous units of Berlin police in anti-riot gear.

Black-clad demonstrators in front were seen carrying a banner reading "We are ungovernable". Many participants of the rally chanted slogans against capitalism and the police. In Rigaerstrasse an intensive fireworks display took place as left-wing activists were launching pyrotechnics into the sky while opponents of "Meuterei" pub eviction were marching by Rigaerstrasse. Firecrackers were thrown from the roofs into the police officers and the crowds passing by Dorfplatz. Several activists were also detained on Frankfurter Tor square for their resistance to police officers, as the march had reached its final point.

The leftist "Meuterei" pub is to be cleared on Thursday morning at 08:00 local time (09:00 GMT). On this occasion, Berlin police are imposing a restricted area near the bar at the corner of Reichenberger Strasse and Lausitzer Strasse with a ban for public gatherings there from Wednesday afternoon until Friday late night, however, calls for protests on Thursday have been spread through social media by leftist groups.
