Our top story today, another COVID-19 variant has been reported in Germany.
According to local media, the variant was identified Monday at a hospital in a Bavarian town, in the southeast of the country.
An official at the hospital said it isn't the same as the variants from Britain, South Africa or Brazil.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss a possible extension of Germany's lockdown with 16 state leaders.
The current extension is scheduled to last until the end of this month.
