The bodies of five children, believed to be three girls and two boys aged from one to eight years old, were found in an apartment in Solingen, in western Germany, on Thursday. "One cannot humanly deal with all problems by himself. But unfortunately, in Germany, people are very separate from each other," said one of the neighbours. "Very, very sad. You just don't know, if the woman needed help, or so," added another one. The sixth child, aged 11, is alive and reportedly with relatives. The 27-year-old mother was named as the primary suspect by a police spokesperson. She is in a hospital in Dusseldorf guarded by police, having reportedly survived a suicide attempt, by jumping in front of a train. The police were reportedly alerted to the scene following a call shortly before 2 PM local time (12:00 GMT) from the victims' grandmother.
