Germany, Sweden, and Poland have each expelled Russian diplomats in response to Moscow's expulsion of three EU envoys last week.
The move on Monday comes after Russia dismissed EU diplomats for reportedly taking part in protests in support of Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny.
Russia's foreign ministry called the EU countries' coordinated retaliation "unjustified and unfriendly".
Meanwhile, Russia has also decided to expel an Albanian diplomat in a tit-for-tat move,... after its own envoy was forced to leave for allegedly violating COVID-19 rules.
