On July 6th Euclid Tsakalotos has been sworn in as Greece's new Finance Minister in Athens.
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos confirmed Tsakalotos in the role at the presidential palace.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was also at the presidential palace for the swearing in.

Several hundred demonstrators held a protest in central Athens on July 12th demanding a Greek exit from the eurozone.
This came as Greek government officials negotiated with European creditors in Brussels for a desperately-needed deal which would stave off immediate financial collapse and the country's potential exit from the euro.
The protest was organised by the capitalist communist movement ANTARSYA, and many chanted against the country's leftist government.
They accused the government of capitulating to the demands made by Greece's creditors for further austerity in exchange for a further bailout loan.
***
Greeks finally saw their banks reopen at 8am local time (0500 GMT) on July 20th but many restrictions on transactions, including cash withdrawals, remain in place.
In a decree published on July 18th, the Greek government kept the daily cash withdrawal limit at 60 euros (65 US dollars) but added a weekly limit.

Taxi services were also hit by the hike.
