The first in a two-part webinar series titled ‘Preparing for a post-Covid-19 global leather marketplace’, organised by ILM in partnership with global hide and leather supplier JBS Couros and the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), will examine how supply chains might change, the impact on sustainability goals and how businesses can prepare and adapt to a new global leather marketplace post pandemic.
In this first webinar, ‘How globally integrated supply chains can evolve to improve leather businesses in a post-Covid-19 world’ we feature three high-profile speakers representing different parts of the wider leather supply chain, including Kim Sena, Sustainability Manager at Brazil headquartered JBS Couros, Mauricio Bauer, Senior Corporate Engagement Specialist at the National Wildlife Federation and Andy Pleatman, responsible for vision and direction at China based tannery Asiatan. The webinar has been divided into two elements, a presentation by Kim Sena on JBS’ Kind Leather concept as an example of a more sustainable approach which aims to minimise the environmental impact of leather production, followed by a panel discussion which tackles the biggest challenges businesses are facing post Covid-19, the importance of sustainability and CSR and effective risk-management strategies.
