Ingrid Pollard and Mason Leaver-Yap in conversation as they discuss Ingrid’s recent residency and commission with Glasgow Women’s Library, and the process of working within a relatively young archive, the Lesbian Archive held within GWL's collection.

This event was recorded on Thursday 24th June 2021 and will be available online until late August 2021.

Ingrid Pollard is a multi-media artist, photographer, researcher and lecturer. Ingrid has developed a social practice concerned with representation, history and landscape with reference to race, difference and the materiality of lens-based media. In 2019 she was commissioned to undertake a residency and produce new works in response to the Lesbian Archive held at Glasgow Women’s Library. Mason Leaver-Yap works with artists to produce texts, exhibitions and events, and has worked with Ingrid in the past (Hot Moment, Auto Italia, 2020).

This virtual in conversation event was programmed as part of Ingrid’s exhibition 'No Cover Up' at GWL, which takes place from Friday 28th May to Friday 23rd July 2021. Find out more about the exhibition here: https://womenslibrary.org.uk/event/ingrid-pollard-2/

The exhibition is selected for and supported by the Glasgow International 2021 Across the City Programme. Funded by Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund which is run by the Museums Association.

The video moves between a Zoom conversation and sharing of images of the exhibition.
