Cathie Wood took a lot of heat last year for stating that the economy was heading into a deflationary environment because of what she called ‘reckless” behavior of the Fed raising interest rates at an unprecedented rate. She took even heat more from naysayers when it appeared that Cathie wanted to ‘take her ball and go home’, writing an open letter to the Fed, asking for an explanation for their hike rates and showing the data as to why their decision should not be unanimous… suggesting that her fund’s lackluster performance was based on the economic conditions. However, now the tables seem to be turning for Wood, as her ARKK flagship fund is up 27% year to date and Bitcoin is up 83% year to date. In her “In The Know” update, Cathie explained that now that we discovered the breaking point in the market was the regional banks, that she is anticipating more damage to come in other areas, and to the surprise of many (but not her), we are starting to see the move to technology as a safe haven.
