Geopolitical disputes over the fight against COViD 19 and the competition between countries that produce the vaccine are entering another stage. The Russian-produced Sputnik V vaccine is under investigation by specialized institutions in various EU countries. This process generates results that should come as no surprise to anyone observing the political activities of the Russian Federation

The Russian vaccine is also causing controversy in Germany. Bavaria, among other states, has bought a large quantity of the Russian vaccine, but also in Germany there are political disputes about whether it is safe to vaccinate people with this vaccine.

At the end of March the head of the European Commission vaccines task force unveiled the first European „health passport”, a document that European officials say will facilitate travel while adhering to the rules of epidemic safety.
