FSG’s Growing Livelihood Opportunities for Women (GLOW) aims to create 500,000+ jobs for women, increase their participation and fair treatment. To do this, GLOW will need to understand barriers faced by women and employers, build inclusive and profitable business models, and create jobs that are aspirational and suitable for women. The session aims to share GLOW’s approach, and explore collaboration for improving livelihoods and gender parity.

Family Income Restoration for Poor and Ultra Poor Households Severely Impacted Due to COVID-19 Lockdown - Arun Nalavadi

A socio-economic survey of around 5000 households from 21 states in India found that there has been a 76% drop in family income in April, with 40% of primary working family members losing their jobs. There is a dire need for a high-impact programme to connect people with sustainable jobs, thereby boosting income stability, saving families from sliding further into poverty, as well as securing the future of children. Magic Bus intends to share the work that it is doing across different states and seek collaboration for further scale & impact. Attendees will get an opportunity to understand the livelihood related challenges faced by poor, ultra-poor urban and rural families and identify the key outcome indicators and explore ways to collaborate to scale the programme.
