Sono Motors and our Vlog host Gladys welcome you to the latest installment of our Sono Stories series. This time, she is on a trip to Nüremberg with Sebastian our Community Ambassador to visit the Community Tour in person and meet up with a few Sono development team members.
Not only will Sebastian see the Community Tour, but he also questions directly from the community and ask Arvind, our Head of Battery Systems, and Christian, our Solar Integration Project Owner various technical questions.

VISION
We have to stop wasting our planet’s resources. CO₂ emissions must be reduced, with immediate effect. We have decided to  take matters into our own hands by making clean mobility affordable for all. For you and for generations to come.

THE SION
The Sion is the first series-produced car that can additionally charge its battery using solar power. A car that charges itself – a Solar Electric Vehicle (SEV).

The Sion is equipped with a 54 kWh battery, which corresponds to a total range of up to 305 km. Additional range is also provided by the solar panels, seamlessly integrated into the body of the car. These are able to harness the power of the sun and generate up to 245 km (average 112 km) per week of additional range at peak. Solar charging will be available whilst driving, to enable the most efficient use of daylight hours.
