Vintage military vehicles have began a race that will take them from Moscow to Belgorod in Russia.
The restored Soviet-era vehicles are making the journey to mark a Russian World War II victory.

STORY-LINE:
These armoured personnel carriers and reconnaissance patrol vehicles have not seen war for many years.
But they will soon be heading to the battlefield.
They are going to race from Moscow, through sites in western Russia where Soviet forces fought the Nazis, to end in Belgorod close to the Ukrainian border.
The event is to honour the Russian soldiers of yesteryear.
"It is important to keep the memory of those heroes who sacrificed their lives for us to have peaceful skies and a normal life," says Andrey Kunov, press secretary of the military-historic society, which is the organizer of the race.
The convoy consists of restored equipment that was previously in service with the Soviet army.
The race marks the Battle of Kursk which took place during July and August of 1943.
It involved 6,000 tanks, 4,000 aircraft and around 2 million troops.
"The main aim of our race is to show that this battle took place and there was a victory, a great victory," says Aleksey Migarin, head of the military-historic society.
In fact, the Russian victory over Nazi Germany is considered a turning point in the Second World War.
Those racing in these vintage vehicles get some insight into the conditions soldiers had to contend with.
"I am getting used to that period. Of course, for our soldiers, it was much more difficult as they did not have all the equipment and comfort (that we have now) but with this race we are trying to come a little closer to them," says Tatyana Tasmanova, a participant of the race.
The motorcade will stop in five cities and participants will lay flowers at the memorials dedicated to  WWII.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak visitors from Belarus and Kazakhstan can not take part in the memorial race.
