Texas just challenged the Federal Reserve's monopoly on money.

With plans to create its own gold-backed digital currency, Texas aims to give the Fed a run for its money.

But is it legal?

The Constitution of the United States says that no state shall make anything but gold and silver a coin in tender and payments of debt.
