Adam Gopnik has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1986. His books include Paris to the Moon, At The Strangers’ Gate and, most recently, A Thousand Small Sanities: The Moral Adventure of Liberalism. Gopnik has won the National Magazine Award for Essays and for Criticism three times, as well as the George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting. In January of 2021, he was named a chevalier of the Legion D’Honneur, France’s highest civilian and military award, by President Emmanuel Macron.

John Micklethwait is the Editor-in-Chief of Bloomberg where he oversees editorial content across all Bloomberg platforms, including its news, newsletters, magazines, opinion, television, radio and digital
properties, as well as its research services including Bloomberg Intelligence. Prior to joining Bloomberg in February 2015, Micklethwait was Editor-in-Chief of The Economist where he led the newspaper into the digital age while
expanding its readership and enhancing its reputation. He joined The Economist in 1987 as a finance correspondent and served as Business editor and United States editor before being named Editor-in-Chief
in 2006. Micklethwait began his career in banking at Chase Manhattan in London after studying history at Magdalen College, Oxford. He is the co-author of seven books, most recently The Wake Up Call: Why the Pandemic Has Exposed the Weakness of the West, and How to Fix It. In 2010,
Micklethwait was named Editors’ Editor by the British Society of Magazine Editors.

Mihir S. Sharma is Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation and Head of its Economy and Growth Programme. In 2019, he co-edited What the Economy Needs Now with Abhijit Banerjee, Gita Gopinath and Raghuram Rajan. He is also a columnist for Bloomberg in New York and an Aspen Fellow.

Distinguished writer and essayist Adam Gopnik's most recent book ‘A Thousand Small Sanities: The Moral Adventure of Liberalism’ follows the current attack on the liberal ideology and thought, exploring the past impact of liberalism and its place in today’s age of resurging autocracy and rampant bigotry.
John Micklethwait is editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News - and a former editor of The Economist, created by 19th century liberalism. In his co-authored book, ‘The Wake Up Call’, he looks at the failure of liberal West in dealing with the Covid pandemic, critically examines the changing socio-political-economic nature of the west, and its impact on national ideologies.
