To mark International Women's Day 2021, The Reading Agency spoke with Janet Skeslien Charles, author of the novels Moonlight in Odessa and The Paris Library, which was published in February. In this video, Janet reads from the opening of the book before discussing the real-life events and people it follows, her writing journey, the history of the American Library in Paris and the importance of libraries, and books, during a time of national crisis.

The Paris Library focuses in particular on a number of inspiring female characters who showed immense courage and compassion during the Nazi Occupation.
