(Note: this was recorded on a GPDWIN 3. The game ran fine but you can tell this device was overheating regularly. Gaming +. recording + multi monitor + hot weather made it really compliated. All settings were to minimum to permit recording...)
Explanation:
Wolfenstein Youngblood received after release a series of patches, one of which was update 1.0.7 adding the Treasure Hunt questline. This added two maps, Little Berlin Cistern and Brother 2 Engineeringworks. Both feature:
- An incorrect, reversed mini-map color scheme.
- Engineeringworks misses its map marker in the main game map, easy to miss.
- Replayability by entering from the exit, which causes:
- Triggers for music, enemy placement and culling of certain elements like doors not to fire if you enter from the wrong way.
- Incorrect AI pathing in some areas for the teammate.
- Cistern features the Brother 1 tower visible across the Seine river, but geographically, from the main game map Cistern is accessed from, Brother 1 should be behind the player, not in front of them.
- Game dispenses stealth play bonuses despite facing zero enemy placement.
- An overall feeling of liminal space especially around the faux urban zone in Cistern.
- Music stays that of Underground utility tunnels despite being outdoors.
- The general flow of both maps completely allows all playstyles, and feel much more linear than the main game maps. Likewise, Cistern features a easily affordable gameplay session time, ending with accessing a Da'at Ychuud vault that did not physically contain any item. This completely feels like a repurposed demo map for the likes of E3 booths. Same with Brother 2 Engineeringworks.
