August 19 is World Humanitarian Day (WHD) and was formally established by the United Nations in 2009 to commemorate humanitarian workers who lost their lives in the course of their work. Especially during the Corona pandemic, it is clear how important local partners are in order to help effectively. 51 partner organisations worked in 2019 with Johanniter International Assistance to provide assistance for people in need, even in difficult conflict and crisis regions.
