I present to you Blackstone Griddle-Food and
Wine Festival around the Pool Dadlife style!!!

Featuring food and drinks from seven different countries.

We are living in uncertain times. As a family we have decided not to travel during this pandemic to reduce our risks of contracting Covid-19. We started this channel after being stuck at home all summer long. My daughters are huge Disney fans and are disappointed about not making their 42 trips to see Mickey this year (that may be an exaggeration, maybe). My oldest daughter came up with the idea of creating our own Food and Wine Festival. So we did it along with the help of our friends Justin and Lupe!!

The food and drinks for each country are listed here in the order you see them in the video.

Mexico: Steak Fajitas with Corona beer(hope that’s the only Corona I get!)
-1.5 lbs of inside skirt steak marinated with garlic
-Flour tortillas, onions, sweet peppers, Mexican cheese, sour cream
-Homemade Pico de Gallo:
Ingredients:
·       1 lb tomatoes (3-4 medium), diced
·       1/2 medium onion (1 cup chopped)
·       1 jalapeno pepper seeded and finely minced (optional)
·       1/2 cup cilantro chopped
·       2 Tbsp lime juice from 1 lime
·       1/2 tsp salt or to taste
·       1/8 tsp black pepper
 
Instructions
1.     In a medium bowl, diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeno pepper and chopped cilantro.
2.     Stir in 2 Tbsp lime juice and lightly season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper, or season to taste. Enjoy right away or cover and refrigerate overnight.
 
In the pico de gallo we made tonight we substituted a diced cucumber for jalapeno pepper

China: Dumplings and Plum Fuki wine
-Frozen dumplings that were cooked on the Blackstone and added either soy or duck sauce.

Germany: Bratwurst and German Beer(Erdinger)
-Cooked the Bratwurst and served in a pretzel bun with deli mustard

Italy: Chicken Parmesan and Moscato wine
-1 lb of thin sliced chicken breasts breaded(flour, egg wash and bread crumbs)
- Cook on the Blackstone to 165 degrees
- Add red sauce and mozzarella cheese



USA: Smash Burger Sliders and Beer(Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale)
-Ground Beef seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder
-Roll up into small ball that fits in palm of your hand
-Put butter on the Blackstone Griddle and melt it
-Place the meatball on the Griddle and smash it down for 10 seconds
-Add Worcestershire sauce and then flip after 2-3 minutes
-After 2-3 minutes on the other side add cheese if desired and remove from Griddle

United Kingdom: Beer Cheese Stout Dip and Baileys shots
-Savory Cheddar cheese, Guiness Stout Beer and Dry Mustard
-Cooked in a skillet on the Blackstone Griddle until it thickened
-Removed from griddle and ate with carrots and bread

Canada: Filet Mignon with mushrooms and Beer(Moosehead Canadian Lager)
-Placed mushrooms on the Blackstone Griddle
-Placed butter on the Blackstone Griddle to melt, added Filet Mignon
-Cooked Filet Mignon to 145 degrees and removed from the Griddle


I hope everyone enjoyed this video. There was a lot of preparation that went into doing this video however I wanted all the viewers out there to see that we can make the best of things when we are put in situations that are not always favorable. I had a blast making this video and I really felt like I was at Food and Wine Festival with family and friends!
