The Indian dairy market is amongst the largest and fastest growing markets in the world. India is the largest milk producer in the world, accounting for around 20% of the global production. Over the past 3 years, production of milk in India has increased at a CAGR of 6.5%. Meanwhile, the output of dairy products has been increasing at a much steeper CAGR of 17.7%. Despite the impact of CoVID-19, as per FAO, India’s milk output is forecast to grow by 2.6 percent in 2020.
However, India’s production numbers are mainly backed by the sheer size of cattle population, and a lot can be untapped by leveraging better technologies towards improving productivity and strengthening value chains. India’s value-added segment offers a huge scope for investments in products such as cheese, flavoured yogurt, exotic ice-creams etc; which are still mainly untapped. Given Italy’s strength in efficient dairy supply chains and advanced milk processing technologies, the opportunities for collaboration are numerous.
This webinar will help explore opportunities between India and Italy towards strengthening dairy supply chains through technology collaborations towards efficiency; and investment opportunities in value added dairy products including better technologies for Milk and Dairy products processing and packaging.
