The second episode of the DWIH São Paulo series of Online Talks – “Surviving, Living, and Shaping the Future During the Times of Covid-19” – addressed the disease itself, as well as the effects of the pandemic on people and how the world population is dealing with the various aspects of social coexistence and the inequalities revealed by the quarantine.

Anxiety, social inequalities, political alignment, environment, and even age come into play. These are some of the elements that influence how people are facing social isolation, according to the researchers invited to this debate: Susanne Moebus, Director of the Institute for Urban Public Health (InUPH) at the University Hospital of Universität Duisburg-Essen, in Germany, and Jéssica Farias, doctoral student in social work and organization psychology, at the University of Brasília (UnB). This episode was moderated by Professor Marcos Buckeridge, Director of the Biosciences Institute of the University of São Paulo (IB-USP).

The DWIH São Paulo Online Talks will take place in two series of three meetings, each representing one of the themes, surviving, living and shaping, with specialists from different areas. The next DWIH São Paulo Online Talks is going to take place on 14th September at 10:30 am and will approach the topic "shaping the future in the time of Covid-19“: https://www.dwih-saopaulo.org/pt/event/dwih-sao-paulo-online-talks-terceiro/
