We’re happy to report that we’re at the halfway point of our one-year furlough/sabbatical in the States! We’re so excited that we get to return to our lives, our ministries, and even our dog, Duke, this coming July!
In the video we do a better job of expressing ourselves than we can in text, but here’s a summary with a few more details:
Major Prayer Request – Carrie is having two surgeries at the same time TOMORROW (February 2). She’s having her gallbladder removed in the same operation where they’ll do a hysterectomy. These both have been causing her increasing amounts of pain and the doctors are amazed she’s put up with it as long as she has. Please pray for all the details surrounding this day from skill and wisdom for the doctors to the ten weeks of recovery.
Praise – God has provided a beautiful place for Carrie to recuperate. We’re living in a condo on the north-end of Colorado Springs ‘til the end of May. We’re so grateful for the snowbirds that are letting us rent the place for this time!
Praise – We were able to spend almost four weeks over Christmas with family in Southern California. Our kids have no memory of what Christmas and Nana’s is like and being there was an answer to many prayers.
Praise – Wesley was able to stay with us over his long, 10-week Christmas break. One of the highlights of his stay was that Jeff was able to give him a “crash course” on driving. He passed both his permit and license tests on the first try within two weeks of each other! No, he doesn’t have his own car, but he plans to borrow cars from other students. (There’s a prayer request built into this praise, if you get our drift.
