We’re so excited to be bringing you another episode regarding the important issue of racial inequality in America. We promised to stay committed to keeping this going and we’re going to continue to do our best to keep this trend up.



Today, our guest is Rick Lucas, a friend of the family. We first met him through his wife, whom Sophie met at a local gym she went to pre-COVID-19. They live in the same neighborhood as us and have two children nearly the exact same ages as our boys. Our connection to them was nearly instant!



In our conversation today we continue to do the deep work and push the boundaries of our comfort so we can all grow and become even better allies. Rick shares his perspective, thoughts, and experiences on the racial inequities in America; personal stories from our own neighborhood where he has experienced being racially discriminated against; and shares how allies can step up and do their part to change the systematic oppression that people of color are facing each and every day.



This conversation was profound, incredible, and enlightening. Rick is so well-spoken and honest. We really leaned into some hard topics that were uncomfortable and learned some profound lessons.
