As international tourism to Ireland remains effectively blocked by Government travel restrictions, ITIC spoke with Kevin Keogh of Dertour, Germany’s largest tour operator, to discuss what needs to happen to allow for international travel and tourism to recommence. In a normal year Dertour being 25,000+ high-spending Germans to Ireland and Kevin speaks of frustration and disappointment with Irish Government policy and how a comprehensive free testing regime is already in place at many German airports. With Covid-19 set to be with us for months if not years then a comprehensive testing policy seems the only way to enable international travel and tourism to recommence safely. Germany is a leader in this.
