ആളുകളുടെ urine, sweat എന്നിവയുടെ smell-ന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ കൊവിഡ് ബാധിതരെ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ കഴിവുള്ള നായകളെ ഇന്ത്യൻ സൈന്യം പരിശീലിപ്പിച്ചു. Covid കാലത്ത് വിമാനത്താവളങ്ങളിലും മറ്റും രോഗബാധിതരായ യാത്രക്കാരെ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ U.A.E -യിലും U.S, Germany, U.K തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും പരിശീലനം സിദ്ധിച്ച നായ്ക്കളെ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു. Kerala പോലീസും കോവിഡ് രോഗികളെ കണ്ടെത്താൻ നായ്ക്കളെ ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ Kerala Police Academy-ക്ക് പ്രൊപോസൽ സമർപ്പിച്ചിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
