On 1 July 2020, the Federal Republic of Germany assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU). The corona pandemic has clearly demonstrated the importance of cooperation and coordination within the EU – also, and especially, in the area of health policy. Working together to combat the corona pandemic and strengthening our ability to respond to health crises are the key priorities of the German Presidency in the area of health.
