Activists stage a ‘Kill the Bill' protest in Bristol on Friday, March 26, to demonstrate against the proposed 'Police, Crime, Sentencing, and Courts Bill.’

The legislation includes a wide range of proposals, such as giving police the power to impose a start and finish time on demonstrations, as well as prison sentences of up to ten years for people who damage memorials.

The bill has provoked a strong backlash across the UK. Bristol and London saw violent protests after police employed heavy-handed tactics to break up vigils in the wake of the murder of Sarah Everard.

The bill has also been criticised by human rights groups.
