Ruptly is live from the town of Guetersloh on Monday, June 22, as a major COVID-19 outbreak hit the local Toennies meat processing plant.

As of Monday morning over 1300 people tested positive for the novel virus in the district, only 16 of which were not factory workers.

Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia Armin Laschet has so far refrained from placing the city on lockdown.

The R-Number in Germany increased to above 2 partially due to the recent Toennis outbreak.
