Localize it! First experiences with FileMaker add-on localization - David Wikström

I recently published my first add-on to gain some practical experience in the area. It was important for me to provide localized versions in the languages I do work in.

Note that I'm using "localization" to include localizing FileMaker code elements - this is not a session on multi-language user interfaces.

This seemed to not be quite as easy as it should be, so - not surprisingly - I ended up creating CamelFish, a FileMaker database that is an add-on localization helper of sorts. While this file a bit of an internal joke, it also kind of works, and I did use it in production.

You can download CamelFish here: camelcase.com/playground/#camelfish - please do read the fine print first!

In addition to some remarks on my experiences with localization, I also hope we will all be able to discuss localization of add-ons, and perhaps also more generally.
