The US is #1. We're the world's largest municipal solid waste producer. Every American produces nearly 1 ton of garbage each year. We eat garbage, live and breath plastic and then wonder why our immune system disorders are on the rise. Only 9% of the plastic we use gets recycled. Is this the world we want to live in ... and leave behind? How can we move away from a "trash society" and live a healthier, connected and more sustainable way of life? What do companies have to do to make trash part of the product lifecycle? And what can we as consumers do?

Nicolette Devidar talked with guests about how we can make consumption more sustainable, what is being done in Europe and the US ... and what consumers can do to eliminate the trash problem to move towards a more holistic approach and possible alternatives to our current throw-away mentality.
