Tesla battery technology might increase energy density by at least 20%-30%. There are several ways Tesla's improved battery could benefit consumers.
If Tesla was "able to increase the energy density and reduce cost by 20 to 30 percent, then it will kind of split the difference like it might reduce the cost of their vehicles and then half will go to increasing people's vehicle range.
Or maybe it'll depend on the model of vehicle. Maybe for their flagship models the Model S and the Model X, Tesla might keep pushing the range up, but for the other models like the Model Y and the Model 3 Tesla might keep increasing the margins. These are just speculations, but we believe all Tesla vehicles will have better range.

Tesla might even announce cobalt-free batteries at its Battery Day soon, saying it is “probably a new type of lithium ion produced by Maxwell using a new high nickel positive electrode combined with lithiated negative electrode, dry battery technology, super capacitor battery and two products of super lithium iron phosphate battery using CTP technology”.
One thing looks certain after the event, Tesla’s lead over every other automaker will be even wider than ever and it might possibly be the end of Internal combustion engine vehicles. Reports say that Elon Musk is pushing to have one of those new battery packs with the new Tesla-made battery cells ready to install in a Model S or Model X for the event, Tesla’s Battery Day may have been delayed but Still, it doesn’t mean that the upcoming event will not capture the attention of the electric car world.
