Protecting Europe’s economic stability from a historic global pandemic presents several unique and challenging questions. This panel discussion, composed of representatives from the European Investment Bank, the European Institutions and civil society will tackle the following: How can new investments be future-proof and geared to deliver the EU’s long-term objectives, as well cushion Europe from the economic effects of the pandemic? How can the EU further enhance its financial tools to channel resources in the short- and long-run to make European societies and economies to thrive? How can the EU’s tools be strengthened so they can support sustainable development, foster innovation and investment, and create jobs over the coming years?

Since 2017, this series of panel discussions has been held across the EU as well as in other neighbouring countries. Designed to discuss the benefits of EU integration and membership, this is also an opportunity to engage broader civil society to debate about the transformative power and direct benefits of the EU.
