No, the FBI didn't recover for the Department of Justice the BTC ransom for DarkSide by hacking their cold storage wallet or stealing private keys. 63.7 BTC were acquired through a warrant in NoCal, most likely from a centralized exchange. This whole case is rather fishy though. Why would the funds be left on a centralized exchange, waiting to get seized?
