The Philippine Coast Guard commissions Airbus H145 light twin-engine helicopter into service

Vice-Admiral George V Ursabia Jr graced the simple and private ceremony to commission into the Coast Guard service one of the two new airbus helicopters – the H145 light twin-engine helicopter – from Germany, at the Coast Guard Aviation Force Hangar, on 18 June 2020.

The said aerial asset with tail number CGH-1452 is a four-tonne-class twin-engine helicopter equipped with high-frequency radios, emergency flotation gear, fast roping, cargo sling, searchlight, and electro-optical systems to perform critical missions including search and rescue, medical evacuation, maritime patrol, and maritime law enforcement.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, CGH-1452 is utilized in transporting personal protective equipment and medical supplies in various cities and provinces across the country to support the nationwide battle for public health and safety.
