The lecture describes how the current century can be viewed as a third colonial race, but this time led by the Asians, not the Europeans.
Using the hegemonic cycles historiography as a theoretical base, we make an analysis on the race for natural resources, in order to supply a growing population and growing demand per capita. A geopolitical game for naval, and aerospace power, is revealed, and five candidates for a next hegemonic power listed, Brazil and India are among the candidates.
The COVID-19 crisis is described as potential accelerator and disruptor in this process.
