I made this piece after learning about the ph gov't plans to pass anti-terror bill; and just yesterday (07/03/2020) the president signed it into law :(
Amidst a global crisis, our gov't. would rather pass a law to silence anyone suspected of t e r r o r i s t acts (which is highly ambiguous) without any warrant, than focus on proactive response for COVID-19 and economic recovery. The authorities promised it won't be abused but even before it turned into law, the abuse is already evident. With misplaced priorities, we're left to suffer. And now, we can't even voice our dissents without fearing for our safety. It's...depressing. What did we do to deserve this? :((
